Why we built GB Nest
There's a frustrating gap in the nesting software market. At the top end, enterprise nesting suites cost thousands per seat with annual maintenance fees. At the bottom, free open-source tools do the basics but typically lack persistent caching, hole nesting, DWG support, or the kind of optimisation refinements that academic literature has known about for fifteen years.
GB Nest closes that gap. A real No-Fit-Polygon contour engine. A multi-threaded genetic optimiser with adaptive rotation and memetic local search. Hole nesting that packs small parts inside the holes of larger ones. All as a single Windows EXE you can download, unzip, and run - for an affordable monthly subscription.
